Selling Briefs and Boxers : What It Takes To Be Male Underwear Models

Underwear modeling requires more compared with other fields of modeling. Unlike fashion or commercial modeling, underwear modeling is exclusive for those who have tighter midsection and developed muscles. If you've been told that you look great in trunks or boxers, and if you made most girls blush upon seeing you in them, then why not be a male underwear model? Who knows, you may even have your own line of male underwear in the future?

Flipping through male underwear magazines or print advertisements can surely give you an idea of what poses you will have and what parts of your body need improvement and toning. Male underwear models, aside from that seductive look and smoky air, all have toned and tight mid-sections, starting from their pectorals down to their knees. A common misconception, however, is that bulky and large muscles are better for underwear models. This is not actually true. A male with lean body and very low body fat percentage has more muscle cuts and crevices in his body compared to the bulky one, who just appears plump on camera.

However, one very important body part for a male underwear model is his abs. Abs are easily noticed. So if you want to stand out and be noticed, get those washboard abs fit for the camera. Work them and show them what you've got. In addition, let your inner sexiness shine with each pose you make. After all, underwear is all about sexiness.

After knowing the criteria, it's now time to take your pictures. Be sure that your abdominal muscles and developed quads are in tip-top shape and peak condition. As these parts are more essential, tone and condition them especially the days before the shoot. Another thing you may want to consider is the kind of product the client wants to sell. It can be either “briefs” or “tighty whitey”, or, boxers. If the client aims to market its boxers, then have more pictures wearing boxers of all sorts. Have as many snapshots taken of you. Send your photos to your modeling agency or agent. These pictures shall include an image with your face and your close-up photos from the different angles.

Usually a starting male underwear models like you are assigned to smaller companies at first. This does not mean you will be stuck at that level. One way to promote yourself more and market to different product endorsements, you can ask your name to be printed in small lettering under your pictures. Of course, this is a form of exposure that can give you benefits more than your salary. Through this, other modeling agents or direct companies can contact and hire you. Your career then will start to take off.
