Male Model Criteria: Do You have

You're strutting your stuff down the runway in Milan or Tokyo. With pure masculine confidence washing over you, you parade the latest and finest designs and products in the market today --- Armani Exchange, Louis Vuitton, Calvin Klein and Levi Strauss. Perhaps, you have repeated this scene mentally over and over again. If you want to be a male model, yes, you can start with imagination. However, to turn this dream into reality, you need physical and psychological qualifications. So do you have them?

Male models are usually judged on the criteria of masculine style, marketability, and of course, stage or camera presence. Also, if you have character and confidence, you've got plus factors. Although nowadays, plus-size male models are also carving their rights in the industry, still, the lean and healthy male grabs more of the modeling job. Physical attributes that clients find are leanness, good proportions, and symmetry or aesthetics.

For male models, especially sports or underwear models, balance and symmetry of their bodies is very important. A V-shape form from the shoulders to the waist is often the basic male model criteria. When it comes to the abs, your stomach area must be muscular and tight from all angles. Your thighs and the calves must also show muscularity. Aside from the physical attributes, you must also have the height of 180-187 cm (5 ft 11 in- 6'2") and the weight of 64-75 kg (140-165 lb). This is according to the Association of Model Agents or AMA.

Another criteria is your stage or camera presence and confidence. Having that connection with the audience is very essential as your main goal is to sell the product and also, your image. Having a certain style and character can definitely affect the product you are endorsing. In addition, having the right psychological characteristics is also a valuable male model criteria, though sometimes forgotten by some. You must be prepared for the demands and pressure of the jobs, as well as the respect and punctuality needed to stay longer in the modeling industry.

Now, if you think you've got them all and you're ready to surprise the modeling world, you need to expose yourself and be discovered!
